Your child’s online tutoring session will be 60 minutes long and most students attend one or two sessions a week. Our qualified teachers run live sessions and will guide your child through a number of relevant activities from your child’s learning programme in each session. A maximum of five students attend any session; each student in the session will be working on their individual learning programme with the guidance and support of the tutor. Working in small groups like this means that sessions are more fun and your child will develop confidence by being with students with similar needs.
Your child will use TutorLink’s computer-based learning resources alongside worksheets and all completed work will be logged in your child’s individual learner profile. Homework is set and marked each week and also logged against your child’s learning record. You have full access to this to review what they have covered and see how they are progressing.
You will be able to track your child’s learning and access progress reports using TutorLink’s intuitive Learning Management System (LMS). Your tutor will also provide regular personal feedback on your child’s progress
We use gamification at TutorLink to help make learning stimulating and engaging. This means that your child will have fun progressing through levels to collect points, badges and rewards.
We will track your child’s progress as he or she progresses through our levels. If an assessment is requested by a parent we will re-assess but recommend this is no more frequently than once every 6 months. This gives enough time for your child to progress sufficiently in between assessments and to relax into their learning.
You can join TutorLink tuition sessions at any point in the school year with no tie-in. Just pay a two-week deposit at the start of your tuition sessions which will be held and used to cover a two weeks’ notice period. Notice can be given at any time to offer you maximum flexibility over your child’s tutoring.
- TutorLink sessions of 60 minutes are charged at £30 a session
- Sessions run during term time and you can pay weekly or fortnightly by direct debit. You will not be charged during the school holidays
- Your child will be allocated a weekly session time. If you are unable to attend you will be charged as usual and given the opportunity to attend a make-up session in the same week. If there are no available times for a make up session, your tutor will set your child an ‘at home session’ for your child to complete at home
- A deposit of two weeks will be taken at the time of enrolment. You can give two weeks’ notice to end the sessions at any time and the deposit payment will be used to cover the notice period
